Published by Longmans Green & Co, London, no date which was typical of English books in that time, this book dates somewhere around 1870-1890's. This book has the original yellow back full lithographed color illustrated covers on the hardboards. Has edge wear, spine has split on front and back paper, still attached by woven cloth underlayer, but boards have been secured on the inside with professional archival tape. Wonderful illustration on front, great old advertising on back, some age soiling. Pages are for the most part clean, all secure, no loose pages, very slight age darkening, few pages have slight small smudges on margins. No scribbles, previous owner signed inside first blank page, dated 1876. Front and back inside boards have been mended at spine edge with archival tape, both are secure. Even with its wear this book has a lot of character and a story of its own.
