Antique & Vintage Photographs EST. 1998 Thames Sailing Barge Greenhithe London Yarmouth Quay Photo
This is a silver gelatin photograph that is unmounted and is 3½ x 2½ inches (90x65mm).
It shows the Thames sailing barge Greenhithe moored stern-on against a stone quay, with \'Greenhit[he]\' and \'London\' painted across the transom. Her sails are furled against the masts, and a small dinghy lies in the water beside the stern. Another barge\'s masts rise further along the quay, with a crane beyond. A row of tall town buildings, including one with a stepped gable, lines the far side of the water.
The reverse is handwritten in blue ink \'Greenhithe\' and \'Yarmouth.\', with the number \'128\' alongside in darker ink. Below this is a pencil note reading \'Swop?\', along with fainter pencil marks that are not clearly legible. The paper carries the repeated \'Velox\' backprint.
