View Larger Image   Heller Masterench Adjustable Wrench 14 inch   Description: This is a nice clean example of a Heller Brothers 14" spring loaded, self-adjusting masterwrench (pipe wrench). It has a spring loaded jaw that ajusts to the larger pipe sizes as presure is applied to the handle. The serated jaws are in very good condition like the rest of the wrench. It's marked "HELLER MADE IN U.S.A. PATENTED 14" MASTERENCH". The trade name sounds like Masterwrench, but the W is dropped in the actual name. There is also a Heller logo near the name (standing horse). This wrench appears to have been slightly modified after cast production, the Heller name raise cast letters have been partially ground off as you can see in the picture. This is the 2nd I have found like this, not sure why this was done. Unlike the smaller wrenches I have seen or have of this type, this one appears to have been Japanned or painted black on most areas. Much of that Japanning is still intact.
