View Larger Image   Antique Oil Stone w/Box Very Fine Grit 7 inch   Description: This is a very nice used antique sharpening oil stone, with a very fine grit on both the top and bottom. Overall a very nice sharpening stone, with a good box that fits on the bottom, or under the stone, there is no top. The stone will come out of the box, so one can use either the top bottom or sides of the stone. The stone is in good+ condition with a little more wear on one side than the other, and a few small chipped off areas along the edges, but most a very small. The box is clean, and is constructed out of hardwood, with nails. Sort of primitive, and one can see that it is old, a very dark patina. The stone is cleaned and oiled, shows some signs of use, has more wear on one side than the other, both sides are for finishing or honing. One side is very good, the other is good+ with a few groves cut into the flat surface at each end.
